Adult Education and Workforce Development Programs
1. The Green Ladders Program
The Green Ladders Program is offered at LaGuardia Community College of the City University of New York -CUNY. This program provides training for unemployed adults returning to school to obtain skills and credentials to work in the green industry. This project required developing labs, lectures, and other materials to teach students about the use of GIS for fieldwork research in the sustainability industry. A mobile App was developed in ArcGIS Online (AGOL) to give students access to the data-entry forms and maps needed to collect and submit information about the surrounding environment in Long Island City of Queens, NY.

2. Adult GIS Data Training Module
I co-authored and helped deliver several workshops in geospatial and environmental information for librarians and other professionals at the GIS and Remote Sensing Center, The Green Library, Florida International University. Miami, FL.
In addition, I organized GIS and remote sensing presentations for library visitors and groups of high school and college students.
3. GIS and Neighborhood Planning
The RCOPC GIS Training Series was developed to teach basic skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for local community planning among the communities of Newark, NJ. This 3-day training series was delivered as part of my assignments while working with the Rutgers Community Outreach Partnership Center -RCOPC- at The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. Rutgers the State University of New Jersey. New Brunswick, NJ.
The project allowed me to create and deliver a series of lectures, training materials, and the Newark Master Map (NMM) DVD containing data and an executable map application previously developed by Dr. Newman’s Studio.
During this 3-day event, participants learned about information sources and how to make maps for their communities. This training was attended by representatives of the main local community development organizations working in Newark, NJ.
